Here's a nice review of Against the Current, the new film by Hastings on Hudson native Peter Callahan.

Home from the City

It's comforting to emerge from the Metro North commuter train in Hastings on Hudson after a long day in New York City.
First you see the street, as the train pulls into the station. Already you're back to a smaller-scale environment, with buildings no taller than three stories.
Then you step off and start walking, shaded by trees along the sidewalk, breathing in the fresh air, and enjoying an invigorating walk up the hill to town.

The Waterfront, Waiting . . .

The incredible view of the George Washington Bridge in the distance to the south, the majestic Palisades cliffs, the always-fascinating mix of river traffic, from tankers, to yachts, to sailboats, to kayaks.
The ruminative peacefulness of waves lapping against the shore.
The empty, overgrown, fenced property, with faded railroad tracks embedded in the asphalt, a reminder of the site's busy industrial past.

Hastings on Hudson NY - A Hill Village with Good Views
There are so many scenic overlooks in little Hastings on Hudson NY. This view is from the steps of the Library, looking up Spring Street towards VFW Park. In the foreground is a sculpture by the late, well-known Hastings on Hudson NY artist Jacques Lipschitz.
